Ummedein - A Ray of Hope
A PARTNERS - IN - SERVICE INITIATIVE -
A Presidential initiative called Ummedein - A Ray of Hope was held on the 4th September 2023. A team from the club visited the Utavali Village in Palghar as part of this project to assist the students of the municipal school there while also experiencing village life.
It all started with a soulful prayer session, setting the tone for the day ahead. Rtr. Malcolm Vakharia conducted a session on ethical grooming for boys in grades 8 to 10, which was truly enlightening. Simultaneously, the girls had an empowering session on menstrual hygiene, where they gained valuable knowledge about menstruation, pain management, and maintaining proper hygiene. They even learned some amazing yoga poses to help alleviate discomfort. But the learning didn't stop there! The team also organized a fascinating session on AI, introducing the village residents to the latest trends and advancements. And let's not forget the pure joy they brought to the children by teaching them new sports and games. It's incredible to see how the Rotaract Club of Lala Lajpatrai College donated an electric bell with a motor, making a positive impact on the school's living conditions. And the cherry on top was the collection of over 1000+ books of various genres, creating the first-ever library in the entire village.
